Lead
Our alumni are trusted members of communities and companies. They lead the way for our students in the field, the lab and the boardroom. Many also give back to the College community and you can too. Here are some opportunities to get involved, but if you have a unique idea, please reach out!
Alumni Council
The Alumni Council was reinvigorated in 2018 by a group of committed alumni who are dedicated to the students, alumni and mission of ACPHS. The Alumni Council hosts regular professional networking events for alumni, mentors students, and advocates for the health care professions. ACPHS alumni can join one of the working committees or just attend events. There is no cost to take part in the Alumni Council and every ACPHS graduate is welcome to take part in any events or programs. To learn more, email alumnicouncil@lkgear.com.
GOLD Advisory Board
The GOLD Advisory Board was founded in 2020 to provide the Board of Trustees with the unique insights from recent graduates. The ten-member board is appointed by the members of the College’s Governance Committee, and they each serve a two-year term, which includes a non-voting appointment to one of the committees of the board. GOLD advisory board members are graduates within the last decade who have completed an application and submitted a CV and letter of recommendation. Members were selected to have representation of experiences across ACPHS' programs. Applications for the next class of GOLD Advisory Board members will be open in the Fall of 2025.
Be a Mentor
ACPHS students are eager to learn from accomplished alumni like you. Mentoring may be an informal series of emails or phone calls to help a student achieve a particular goal or a long-term relationship. There are many ways you can share your advice with current students. Let us know how you would like to help and we can match you with a student who is ready to learn. Fill out this form or email Marcy Stengel, Senior Director of Advancement with questions.
Be a Preceptor
You can shape a student’s future and launch their professional careers by becoming a preceptor today! The Office of Experiential Education is seeking introductory and advanced clinical placement for students, and they want to hear from you. Think about the guidance your preceptor afforded you as a student. This is an opportunity to be part of that tradition and pay it forward to the next generation. Please contact the Experiential Education team to learn more about precepting.
Class Correspondent
Every Class has one or two people who do the work of keeping up with everyone. They know who is changing jobs, getting married, having babies or moving. These people are the glue that keep it all together. Is this you? Would you like it to be?
You can become a Class Correspondent and take a lead role in collecting Class Notes for the alumni magazine or email updates, drum up attendance for events and encourage participation in different initiatives hosted by the college. Contact the OIA team to learn more.
